Terms & Conditions – Use of our image compression tool

Agreement: By using Pixlop, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the tool.
1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Pixlop website and image compression tool (the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part, you must not use the Service.

2. How the Service Works

Pixlop is a client‑side image compression tool. All image processing – including compression, resizing, format conversion, and editing – occurs entirely within your browser using JavaScript and HTML5 Canvas. No images, files, or personal data are ever uploaded to our servers or any third‑party servers. You retain full ownership and control over your images at all times.

Because processing is local, the Service may be affected by your device’s performance, browser capabilities, and available memory. We do not guarantee that every image format or size will be processed successfully.

3. User Responsibilities

You agree to use Pixlop only for lawful purposes. You shall not:

  • Use the Service to compress, store, or share any illegal, offensive, or harmful content.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Service (except as permitted by law).
  • Use automated scripts or bots to overburden the Service.
  • Circumvent any technical limitations or security measures.

You are solely responsible for the images you process and any consequences of their use.

4. Intellectual Property

The Pixlop name, logo, and the underlying code (excluding open‑source libraries) are owned by Pixlop. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute the Service without permission. However, you retain all rights to the images you compress – we claim no ownership over your content.

The Service uses third‑party libraries (e.g., JSZip) which are subject to their own licenses. These are used solely to provide functionality and do not affect your ownership of images.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON‑INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR‑FREE, SECURE, OR THAT ANY DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.

YOU ASSUME ALL RISK FOR ANY DAMAGE TO YOUR DEVICE OR LOSS OF DATA THAT MAY RESULT FROM USING THE SERVICE.

6. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PIXLOP AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED $100 USD.

Because the Service processes images locally, we cannot be held responsible for any unintended results (e.g., corrupted output files, loss of image quality, or failure to compress).

7. Modifications to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

8. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction where the operator resides, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of that jurisdiction.

9. Contact Information
